By donating appreciated securities such as stocks, bonds, and/or mutual funds that have realized significant appreciation over time directly to NYGASP, you can avoid capital gains taxes and take a charitable tax deduction in the year of your gift.

Planned Giving - Albert bergeret Society

Help secure this timeless repertoire’s place in the theatrical landscape by including NYGASP in your estate plan. There are many ways to leave a legacy, and planned giving can often (frequently) provide donors with significant benefits, including tax advantages.

When you leave a planned gift to NYGASP, we are very pleased to include you (with your permission) in our recognition group, the Albert Bergeret Society. The company is immensely grateful to our patrons and supporters who are the cornerstone of our success. As we approach our fiftieth birthday, we are looking forward to the next fifty years, and sustaining gifts such as yours make that future possible. We have created a strong succession plan, including the addition of key staff leaders, to make sure NYGASP’s artistry prospers and perseveres.

Types of Planned Giving include:

Qualified Charitable Distributions from IRAs
Taxpayers who are 70 ½ are eligible to make Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) of up to $100,000 from their IRAs to not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organizations such as NYGASP. The amount donated is excluded from taxable income, unlike regular withdrawals from an IRA. QCDs don’t require that you itemize, which due to recent tax law changes, offers you the option to take advantage of the higher standard deduction and still use a QCD for charitable giving.

For those who are 72 and above, QCDs from an IRA will qualify toward satisfying the required minimum distributions (RMDs) for a given year.

Bequests
Sample Bequest Language:
