NYGASP NEW COMPANY SPOTLIGHTS Fall 2022

Bass-Baritone, Patrick Lord-Remmert was most recently seen on stage in NYC in Heartbeat Opera’s production of Der Freischütz. Hailing from Illinois, Patrick loved music from an early age, tackling many musical instruments, including the oboe, English horn, trumpet, and mandolin, and is an accomplished violinist. He holds a Bachelors of Music from Butler University and also studied at the Musik und Kunst Privat Universität der Stadt Wien. He’ll be showing off some Viennese waltzes (and cachuchas, fandangos, boleros) as one of the gallant gondolieri in our excellent ensemble. Welcome, Patrick!

Chicago-native, Ben Neumayer’s favorite roles include Arthur (Camelot), Beast (Beauty and the Beast), Pontius Pilate (Jesus Christ Superstar), and Captain Von Trapp (The Sound of Music). Ben is equally passionate about opera, having studied Opera Performance at Belmont University and appeared with Nashville Opera in The Pirates of Penzance. Fun facts about Ben - he is a skilled voice over artist and was a nationally ranked male cheerleader in college! Listen out for his beautiful baritone in our men’s ensemble.

Nathan Seldin, a classically-trained baritone from Staten Island, is an alum of Mannes and Manhattan School of Music. Nathan’s long history of vocal study also includes attending Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music, Art, and Performing Arts (the “Fame” school) and work in Germany and Italy, where he became fluent in both languages. Career highlights include Gaston (Beauty and the Beast), the title role in Discover Opera's Grimm Reality, the American debut of Last Train to Tomorrow at Lincoln Center, and multiple touring concerts around Italy. Nathan will leverage his Italian skills to perfection in our Venetian ensemble. Che bello!
